Megara and Corex Collaborate at Bulk Expo

The team at Megara love a design challenge!

After joining forces with like-minded Australian manufacturing pioneers Corex earlier this year, we were excited to get creative with our first collaborative project; an expo stand created using our combined product range!

Our first showcase together was  The Australian Bulk Handling Expo 2022 held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th August. We were all excited to get out in Melbourne again after a 2-year hiatus from trade shows to showcase our locally made storage, packaging and transportation solutions made from Corflute® and Promeg®.

Corex’s Corflute® and Megara’s Promeg® products are both designed to be reused, and are environmentally and economically more sustainable than single use cardboard packaging solutions.

Display Design

Together we built everything on the stand from benches, counters, and signage, through to our new promotional give away Swatch Trucks which feature both of our signature sheet ranges.

Using Corex’s fresh and new brand elements, the Megara design team created all display items using Corex’s colours and iconic Corflute® brand. A combination of Megara and Corex substrates were used to create the display pieces including Promeg®, Bollaboard® and Corflute®. Everything was printed and cut on site at Megara.

Megara has taken the pledge!

Operation Clean Sweep

Here at Megara, we take our responsibility to protect the environment very seriously. From closed loop manufacturing and zero post-industrial waste, it was a no brainer for us to take the next step and join Operation Clean Sweep.

For those of you that don’t know, here is a brief snippet from their website to fill you in…

“Making zero pellet loss your goal.

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) introduced the Operation Clean Sweep® program to the USA in 1992. Since then it has also been successfully implemented in over 22 jurisdictions including Europe, New Zealand and Canada. The message is simple: Resin pellets should be contained, reclaimed and/or disposed of properly. The program has now been introduced to Australia in an effort to follow the USA industry goal of zero pellet loss. This project was funded through the Victorian Government’s Litter Hotspots Program.”

The process of manufacturing Promeg polypropylene sheet starts with our raw ingredients in pellet form. These pellets are tiny and can easily end up on the floor and then eventually into our water ways. By joining Operation Clean Sweep, we’re not only helping ourselves, but the planet too. It’s a win-win.

We have signed a pledge to demonstrate our commitment to a clean environment and are proud to be a part of such an important movement.

Case Study: Promeg® Antimicrobial

If you didn’t already know, Megara can produce antimicrobial Promeg.

What does this mean?

Promeg antimicrobial helps control the spread of bacteria.

With globally spread infections becoming increasingly prevelant, more and more of our clients are looking at ways to improve infection control.

Antimicrobial Promeg provides continuous antimicrobial properties to products used in areas where infection control is particularly important.

Some typical products that can benefit from antimicrobial added into to the material include folders, clipboards, inflight safety cards or swatches.

This product innovation adds additional value to the products in which it is used – primarily because human health is the number one priority in the minds of businesses and consumers alike.
