We have a new home

We now have most of our Megara team, machinery, and resources at our new home with Corex at 261 Frankston-Dandenong Road, Dandenong South and are in the final stages of our relocation which will be complete by late January 2023.

To celebrate our new home, we have created a unique gift for our customers.

Our Kerbeco® Plant Holders are made from 50% recycled waste that has been collected from kerbside recycling, reducing landfill.  Kerbeco sheet is made right here on site. All post-industrial waste (scrap from cutting) is then used again in other recycled sheet products in our PROMEG Ecorange®.

The design of the Plant Holder is not only stylish and practical, but it also maximises sheet yield, minimising waste. The design also includes a wicking basket which retains the water in the plants pot.

We have also included a 2023 calendar to make your Plant Holder even more functional and perfect for your office desk.

Get in touch with your account manager to receive your Kerbeco® Plant Holder. hello@megara.com.au

We can’t wait to see you all in 2023 at our new home!

Relocation to Dandenong South

Megara design and manufacturing team enjoying their new home at Dandenong.

Since our merger with Corex in February this year, the teams at Corex and Megara have been making and executing plans for the smoothest possible assimilation into Corex’s Dandenong South location. These plans were designed to minimise disruption to our valued clients.

We now have most of our Megara team, machinery, and resources at our new home in Dandenong South and are in the final stages of our relocation which will be complete by late January 2023.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support in 2022.

From the teams at Corex, Corex Recycling and Megara, we would like to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas and New Year break. We can’t wait to see you all in 2023 at our new home!

Kind regards,
The team at Megara

Christmas Packaging

Looking for some Christmas Packaging Inspiration?

Throughout the year, our team works on all kinds of projects from POS display, signage, horticultural and customised stationery products.

But during seasonal and special times like Christmas, Easter and Mother’s Day, our design and manufacturing teams gear up to get creative.

Megara specialises in creating unique packaging and GWP (gift with purchase) solutions that communicate the value of your brand. Seasonal occasions naturally bring out our fun and creative best!

With design, manufacturing and recycling all under one roof, it’s not too late to create the perfect customised packaging solution for Christmas.

Designed & made locally from our own polypropylene

It all starts with our 100% recyclable polypropylene made on site at Megara.

We make PROMEG® polypropylene which is stocked in a wide range of opaque and translucent colours including, clear (frosted), white, black, yellow, orange, burgundy, blues, red, greens, greys, silver, and translucent orange, yellow, pink, red, purple, blue, green and grey. We also make custom colours to match your corporate brand colours.

SHEET: Stunning Translucent Toffee Apple Red custom made PROMEG®.
DESIGN: Left: Twist top lolly package. The twist lid design doubles as a serving bowl. Right: Carry bag lolly package with gravity feed opening.

Recycled & Recyclable

Our manufacturing site is truly closed loop. All of our scrap sheet (post-industrial waste) is recycled at Megara, and recreated in a range of different sheet products in our PROMEG ECORANGE®.

We also make a sheet called KERBECO®. As the name suggests, KERBECO® is made from 50% recycled waste that has been collected from kerbside recycling.  It is also a 100% recyclable substrate that you can put into your recycling bin or return to us here, at our plant in Melbourne.

KERBECO® is a white sheet with the odd “recycled fleck” running through it, ready to print and make your brand stand out. What a better way to promote your brand than on an Australian made, sustainable, Carbon Neutral material.

No cookie cutter packaging designs here!

For businesses that have worked with Megara before, you know that our specialist polypropylene industrial designers are second to none. Megara designers are the market leaders in creating bespoke packaging using polypropylene.

Our designers do not just create amazing designs that wow customers, they create designs that maximise materials and sheet yield, minimising waste whilst giving you the biggest bang for your budget.

Megara’s expert design team will work with you to create a sustainable solution that embraces your brand and speaks to your audience.

SHEET: Toffee Apple Red opaque PROMEG®. Sheet co-extruded with white to give it a super vibrant glassy aesthetic.
DESIGN: Twist top with compartment for coasters in the lid.

Megara and Corex Collaborate at Bulk Expo

The team at Megara love a design challenge!

After joining forces with like-minded Australian manufacturing pioneers Corex earlier this year, we were excited to get creative with our first collaborative project; an expo stand created using our combined product range!

Our first showcase together was  The Australian Bulk Handling Expo 2022 held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th August. We were all excited to get out in Melbourne again after a 2-year hiatus from trade shows to showcase our locally made storage, packaging and transportation solutions made from Corflute® and Promeg®.

Corex’s Corflute® and Megara’s Promeg® products are both designed to be reused, and are environmentally and economically more sustainable than single use cardboard packaging solutions.

Counter display with integrated header. Flat pack design made entirely from polypropylene. Tabs together with no glue or tape required.

Display Design

Together we built everything on the stand from benches, counters, and signage, through to our new promotional give away Swatch Trucks which feature both of our signature sheet ranges.

Using Corex’s fresh and new brand elements, the Megara design team created all display items using Corex’s colours and iconic Corflute® brand. A combination of Megara and Corex substrates were used to create the display pieces including Promeg®, Bollaboard® and Corflute®. Everything was printed and cut on site at Megara.

Digitally printed polypropylene display tables. A powerful solution extending the brand experience.

Corflute® and Promeg Ecorange® Swatch Truck. Designed to provide inspiration for your next display or packaging project.

Megara has taken the pledge!

Operation Clean Sweep

Here at Megara, we take our responsibility to protect the environment very seriously. From closed loop manufacturing and zero post-industrial waste, it was a no brainer for us to take the next step and join Operation Clean Sweep.

For those of you that don’t know, here is a brief snippet from their website to fill you in…

“Making zero pellet loss your goal.

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) introduced the Operation Clean Sweep® program to the USA in 1992. Since then it has also been successfully implemented in over 22 jurisdictions including Europe, New Zealand and Canada. The message is simple: Resin pellets should be contained, reclaimed and/or disposed of properly. The program has now been introduced to Australia in an effort to follow the USA industry goal of zero pellet loss. This project was funded through the Victorian Government’s Litter Hotspots Program.”

The process of manufacturing Promeg polypropylene sheet starts with our raw ingredients in pellet form. These pellets are tiny and can easily end up on the floor and then eventually into our water ways. By joining Operation Clean Sweep, we’re not only helping ourselves, but the planet too. It’s a win-win.

We have signed a pledge to demonstrate our commitment to a clean environment and are proud to be a part of such an important movement.

Case Study: Promeg® Antimicrobial

If you didn’t already know, Megara can produce antimicrobial Promeg.

What does this mean?

Promeg antimicrobial helps control the spread of bacteria.

With globally spread infections becoming increasingly prevelant, more and more of our clients are looking at ways to improve infection control.

Antimicrobial Promeg provides continuous antimicrobial properties to products used in areas where infection control is particularly important.

Some typical products that can benefit from antimicrobial added into to the material include folders, clipboards, inflight safety cards or swatches.

This product innovation adds additional value to the products in which it is used – primarily because human health is the number one priority in the minds of businesses and consumers alike.
